The earthquakes struck southern Türkiye and Syria on the early morning of the 6th of February 2023 with catastrophic effects. It has impacted 23 million people, and left over forty-five thousand people dead.

Working with partners who were on the ground in Gaziantep and Sanliurfa before the crisis, Peace Train has responded through the delivery of emergency items such as fuel, food, water, blankets, mattresses, coats and essential hygiene kits to these affected areas.

1250 families have been reached with emergency food, water, hygiene kits, clothes, blankets, sleeping material and fuel.
12 tonnes of fresh dates have been sourced and shipped from Saudi Arabia to reach those affected by the earthquake in Turkiye. They have arrived in Turkiye and are being distributed to those affected most.
1830 more families will receive food aid throughout April and May from Peace Train - delivered through our local partners, the Turkish Red Crescent.
